Projects

Working in partnership with people in Masaya

Nicaragua is the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere with one of the highest debts in the world. The LMLG has worked with numerous organisations in Masaya, to support a range of projects that promote sustainable development and empower the people they involve.

In all projects, whether they focus on building water tanks, crop diversity, livestock or energy efficient stoves, the LMLG strives to uphold best practice in development by creating effective partnership with the Masayan people. We collaberate with known non-govermental organisations who work with local people on solutions and systems to suit local needs and conditions.

In addition, the LMLG has worked in conjunction with other European cities and organisations that have links with Masaya, to develop larger scale projects (housing, water and waste management).

The LMLG has raised considerable funds to alleviate the devastating effects of hurricanes and earthquakes which are a constant threat to the lives and livelihoods of the Nicaraguan people.

Projects in Masaya are funded by donations and fundraising events.
